The inception of Century Forest Management in 2017 was driven by a clear vision held by founders Garren Hitner and Ethan Fielder. They observed a significant gap in support for small timberland owners who required assistance in managing and capitalizing on their forests. Garren and Ethan leveraged their extensive knowledge and experience across various sectors of the timber industry to create a company that could fill this void. Their combined expertise has been the cornerstone of Century Forest Management's success, providing a depth of understanding and a breadth of services that are unmatched in the region.

"Of the five companies I had contacted, Century Forest Management was the only company that said they would thin the acreage. Garren and Ethan came out to the property, walked through it and said they'd be very willing to thin and improve the stand. When they started thinning (2023), they kept me appraised of everything. I was asked to physically look at what was started to determine if I wanted it thinned less or more. Each step I was made aware of what was going on. The 50 acre stand looks like a park now and in 15 or so years, may be able to be thinned again! I am very pleased with the outcome. I was even given a platter of homemade cookies and treats at Christmas! The office staff goes the extra as well. I had to get a "retro" value appraisal of the logged property for what its value was in 2020. The office staff, of which one was Garren's wife, did all she could to help me get a value. These people evidently love what they do. Fantastic company with great work ethics."

"Century Forest Management has done a great job logging for our clients every time we’ve worked with them. Whether it was a commercial thinning that required a keen eye for selecting and protecting the best leave trees, or a clearcut in difficult terrain, I’ve been impressed by their ability to take care of the ground and I’ve enjoyed the collaboration.”

"After searching for more than 5 years I am so happy to have found Century Forest Management Company. Garren and Ethan are very knowledgeable about forestry and listen to my concerns about protecting my land and trees. As I do not live near my property, I need someone I can trust to help with the maintenance of my property that has been in my family for over 125 years. I feel comfortable recommending Century Forest Management to others."

"I recommend Century Forest Management. They are very professional, reliable and have reasonable costs. Also, Century has an expert knowledge of forestry and they facilitate the Oregon Department of Forestry permitting process. They have a familiarity with log buyer and mill requirements, as well as compliance with required Forest Practices Act rules. Century completed my logging operation in a timely manner using state-of-the art equipment and techniques."
- David Schiappa | Lorane, Oregon
"Our family’s small woodland business has chosen Century Forest Management to help care for our property since 2018. They have completed thinnings and final harvests, written our management plan, up-graded roads, and made sure we are in compliance with the current regulations, especially the new Private
Forest Accord. I particularly appreciate their marketing skills. Their in-depth knowledge of the industry and breadth of professional contacts allow us to optimize whatever type of log we are selling. All paperwork is clear, professional, and timely, especially helpful when tax time rolls around!
The job site is cleaned up and roads left in good shape ready for us to access and enjoy our property. They understand and respect the deep connection we have to our forested home and family legacy."
