Our tailored thinning prescriptions are meticulously crafted to align with your unique requirements, whether it's stand release, storm damage cleanup, fire salvage, or other specialized needs. Our skilled team is adept at enhancing the quality of your stands while preserving the vitality of the ecosystem. By focusing on stand enhancement thinning, we not only optimize the value of your timber but also contribute to the overall resilience and sustainability of your forest.
We place a high priority on the welfare of the residual trees, ensuring that they continue to thrive post-thinning. Our sophisticated in-stand processing method includes careful de-limbing and processing of trees on-site to where the tree is cut, which creates a protective slash mat. This innovative approach minimizes soil compaction, allowing our equipment to operate with a lighter footprint, and provides a natural fertilizing layer that enriches the soil and nourishes the remaining trees. The resulting environment is one where the forest's health is the main beneficiary, with a reduced risk of disease spread and a boost in growth potential for the leave trees.
At Century Forest Management, we understand that every tree counts. That's why we are committed to precision in maneuvering harvested trees to the landing, ensuring the protection of the residual stand. This delicate handling preserves the integrity of your forest, leaving it unscarred and poised for continued prosperity. With our commercial thinning services, landowners in Western Oregon can rest assured that their forest management objectives will be met with the highest level of professionalism and environmental care. "Of the five companies I had contacted, Century Forest Management was the only company that said they would thin the acreage. Garren and Ethan came out to the property, walked through it and said they'd be very willing to thin and improve the stand. When they started thinning (2023), they kept me appraised of everything. I was asked to physically look at what was started to determine if I wanted it thinned less or more. Each step I was made aware of what was going on. The 50 acre stand looks like a park now and in 15 or so years, may be able to be thinned again! I am very pleased with the outcome. I was even given a platter of homemade cookies and treats at Christmas! The office staff goes the extra as well. I had to get a "retro" value appraisal of the logged property for what its value was in 2020. The office staff, of which one was Garren's wife, did all she could to help me get a value. These people evidently love what they do. Fantastic company with great work ethics."

"Century Forest Management has done a great job logging for our clients every time we’ve worked with them. Whether it was a commercial thinning that required a keen eye for selecting and protecting the best leave trees, or a clearcut in difficult terrain, I’ve been impressed by their ability to take care of the ground and I’ve enjoyed the collaboration.”

"After searching for more than 5 years I am so happy to have found Century Forest Management Company. Garren and Ethan are very knowledgeable about forestry and listen to my concerns about protecting my land and trees. As I do not live near my property, I need someone I can trust to help with the maintenance of my property that has been in my family for over 125 years. I feel comfortable recommending Century Forest Management to others."

"I recommend Century Forest Management. They are very professional, reliable and have reasonable costs. Also, Century has an expert knowledge of forestry and they facilitate the Oregon Department of Forestry permitting process. They have a familiarity with log buyer and mill requirements, as well as compliance with required Forest Practices Act rules. Century completed my logging operation in a timely manner using state-of-the art equipment and techniques."

"Our family’s small woodland business has chosen Century Forest Management to help care for our property since 2018. They have completed thinnings and final harvests, written our management plan, up-graded roads, and made sure we are in compliance with the current regulations, especially the new Private
Forest Accord. I particularly appreciate their marketing skills. Their in-depth knowledge of the industry and breadth of professional contacts allow us to optimize whatever type of log we are selling. All paperwork is clear, professional, and timely, especially helpful when tax time rolls around!
The job site is cleaned up and roads left in good shape ready for us to access and enjoy our property. They understand and respect the deep connection we have to our forested home and family legacy."
